SOM Managing Director Jed Zimmerman received certification as a Design-Build Professional (DBIA) from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). The designation identifies design and construction professionals who have gone through DBIA’s comprehensive application process, educational programs, and exam to show proficiency in the design-build process and best practices. Designation also entails that recipients complete educational courses throughout the year to stay current on industry trends and developments.
Zimmerman works out of SOM’s Los Angeles office, and has more than 27 years of industry experience. He has worked on the design and management of airport, rail-transit facility, civic, corporate, commercial, industrial, tenant improvement, and residential projects throughout the United States. Zimmerman is currently working on the Long Beach Civic Center, a 22-acre redevelopment of the Southern California city’s downtown civic core, and various projects at Los Angeles International Airport.
